Update as of 5/12/25: ZoomCare has reversed its previous decision to remove its Bellevue ‘super clinic’ from Premera’s network. The location will remain in-network to serve the needs of Premera members.
Recently, ZoomCare requested an increase from Premera for a single specialty clinic located in Bellevue, Washington.
- This single clinic, called a ‘super clinic,’ performs MRIs and CAT scans, and was part of the contract negotiation completed last year between Premera and ZoomCare.
- That contract, a 3-year deal, included rate increases for each year of the contract.
- In spite of those agreed upon annual rate increases, and less than a year after the newly negotiated contract took effect on July 15, 2024, ZoomCare has now requested an additional double-digit rate increase for this ‘super clinic’ located in Bellevue, Washington.
- ZoomCare made the decision to pull the Bellevue ‘super clinic’ from our network beginning May 1, 2025.
- This impacts only the one ‘super clinic’ in Bellevue WA.
We understand that the exit of this clinic from Premera’s network comes on short notice, and we regret that ZoomCare has pursued this course of action.
Our team has been working with ZoomCare for the past several weeks to understand their highly unusual request. Typically, when a contract is signed, it includes all clinics and facilities under specific Tax Identification Numbers (TINs). That is the case in the agreement we reached with ZoomCare.
However, they are changing this one clinic TIN in the hopes that we will negotiate a separate contract with a double-digit increase just for this clinic.
Members who have used this clinic in the last 12 months will receive further communications soon.
