Taking the simple steps outlined here can help you avoid surprises and get the most value from your Premera health plan year after year.

• Create an online account 

• • An online account makes it easy to access key details about your Premera plan. Track your progress toward your deductible, learn what preventive care is available to you at no out-of-pocket cost, and see the status of claims, all in one place.  

• Download the Premera app  

• • Once you have an online account, download the Premera app for your mobile device, available in both the Google Play store and iOS App Store. This secure app makes it easy to access and understand your benefits right from your phone. 

• Get a primary care provider  

• • Having a primary care provider can help you understand your health needs and ensure you have a trusted healthcare professional in your corner. Don’t have a primary care provider? We can help you find one with Premera’s Find Care tool, available on Premera’s website and through our mobile app.
    • Once you’ve signed into your account, select Find Care and then Find a Doctor.
  • If you’re located in Washington State, you can also connect with a primary care provider by making an appointment at a Kinwell Health clinic near you.  

• Review your benefits  

• • Premera health plans offer an array of benefits, including services like mental health support that may be provided through third-party vendors. Getting familiar with your benefits can help ensure you get the most out of them!

• Schedule your annual preventive checkup  

• • An annual checkup with a primary care provider is covered by every Premera health plan. This is a great time to meet with your primary care provider, check in on your health, catch issues they can treat, and refer you to an appropriate specialist if needed. 
  • Your annual checkup is also a great time to learn what other preventive care, like screenings or vaccinations, may be right for you.  Work with your primary care provider to understand what screenings may be appropriate for you given your age and other factors. For instance, most people should get screened for colorectal cancer starting at age 45.  
  • Recommended screenings are fully covered as preventive care under Premera health plans. That means getting them done should not cost members anything out-of-pocket.  

• Get your Premera health plan member ID card

• • You will receive a Premera health plan ID card when you first enroll in a Premera health plan, and you can also access it through the Premera mobile app. But if you need a new physical card, we can help.
    • Before you request a replacement ID card from Premera, please review your contact information in the Premera mobile app to ensure it is correct.
    • If you have a Premera plan through your employer, you may need to contact your human relations or employee relations team to correct any inaccurate or out-of-date contact information.
