Doctor on Demand Contract Termination

Nov 18, 2025 | 5 min read

The virtual care options with Doctor on Demand will end December 31, 2025. We are required by Washington state mandates to notify you of this change if you had a virtual visit with a provider with Doctor on Demand. In 2026, Doctor on Demand will no longer be part of your Premera Blue Cross health plan.

The last date Doctor on Demand providers will provide in-network care is December 31, 2025. You can still access Doctor on Demand, but it will be out-of-network and have additional costs. Also, the platform and digital tools will also no longer be available after this date.

This change impacts all commercial plans, along with Premera Blue Cross individual plans and LifeWise Health Plan of Washington members. These negotiations do not impact Premera members with Medicare Supplement coverage.

You have additional virtual care benefits under your plan. Sign in to your account on member.premera.com to review your benefits and detailed information on your coverage. On January 1, 2026, your virtual care options may include:

    • 98point6 by Transcarent: On-demand medical care via text and video
    • Spring Health and Talkspace: Virtual mental health support
  • Login to the Premera mobile app to access your virtual care options.
  • Browse the provider directory: Sign in to your account on <URL> and use our Find Care tool to search for in-network medical and mental health specialists.
  • Your primary care provider can also help you find care that is right for you.

What do I do if I have a long-term treatment plan, or have a chronic medical or mental health condition treated with Doctor on Demand providers?

If you are receiving treatment for a covered serious, complex, or chronic medical or mental health condition with any Doctor on Demand provider, you may qualify for continuity of care benefits. This includes long-term or chronic illness, or ongoing mental health conditions. If approved, you can continue your care with Doctor on Demand at the current in-network benefit level for up to 90 days. Contact our customer service team for more information about this process.

What happens next?

Through December 31, 2025, you may still receive care from Doctor on Demand on an in-network basis. Beginning January 1, 2026, you may pay more to use these providers. We are required by Washington state mandates to notify you of this change.

If you would like more information on doctors in your area or other virtual care providers, sign into your account, use our Find a Doctor tool, or call us at the phone number listed on the back on your ID card.
