In order to address the future and current preventive care needs of those in Washington, Premera Blue Cross and Kinwell Medical Group have teamed up to open clinics and improve access to healthcare.

Why is preventive care important?

With chronic diseases being the number one driver of healthcare costs in the United States, it’s no wonder that preventive care is crucial. Preventive care screenings, checkups, and vaccines are covered in full when you see an in-network provider.* By regularly attending preventive care visits, you stay up to date with the following:

  • Screenings for breast cancer, cervical cancer, and colon cancer
  • Diabetes screenings
  • Cholesterol screenings
  • Wellness exam
  • Vaccines and immunizations

By being proactive and scheduling an annual visit, you are making an investment in your long-term health.

About the collaboration

The collaboration with Kinwell Medical Group expands the concept of increasing access to primary care, when back in 2019 Premera joined forces with Vera Whole Health to open Vivacity Care Centers. There are now four Vivacity Care Centers in Spokane County that offer Premera members an improved approach to their healthcare and a better customer experience.

Kinwell Medical Group’s first two primary care clinics opened in December 2021 in Yakima and Wenatchee. Kinwell Medical Group’s clinics provide onsite access to a variety of services, which will greatly improve customer service and reduce wait times for Premera members. Additional clinics will open throughout Washington this year.
