Mar 21, 2022 | 3 min

Every year, the Washington Association of Health Underwriters (WAHU) recognizes an outstanding healthcare insurance professional in the Pacific Northwest. This individual demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and expertise of products, processes, and services in the industry to provide innovative and effective solutions for the people they serve. This year, the award for Outstanding WA Insurance Representative goes to Premera Senior Market Sales Manager, Kim Lovell!

Kim has worked in the industry for 23 years. She was nominated for this award by her peers for her demonstrated excellence in service to her clients and co-workers, and her diligence answering questions and providing feedback

Kim was motivated to grow her career in healthcare because of her desire to help people. Picking a plan that works for each individual can be difficult. It is an insurance agent’s job to serve the community by helping people navigate their options and choose the best coverage for their circumstance. “I worry most about the senior at home who has no one to help them when they need to make an important decision in their plan due to health or prescription changes,” said Kim. “Good ethical agents have so much value and responsibility to our community. Education is key, but at some point, as we age, even that can be overwhelming. Building trust with someone like a licensed agent that knows them and their personal needs can give them peace of mind.”

Kim has one tip for everyone with seeking a health plan, no matter their age. “Make sure your doctors are participating with your plan, know your prescription costs, and always attend information seminars for changes.” It’s important to understand the details of your plan benefits and finding a good agent can help people avoid surprises in the future.

In an ever-changing industry, we are grateful to have agents like Kim that help our members navigate change, understand their benefits, and get the care they need. Congratulations Kim, and thank you for the excellent service you provide to our members!
